Alan and Ellen left for Vienna this morning so Jane and I had a day on our own. A slow, late start was welcomed. The weather was really quite cold this morning, around 1 degree and there was a chilly mist hanging over the city.
We walked up to Rue de Rivoli where Jane manged to buy boots, jeans and some presents. Every shop has security personnel who check your bags and make you unzip your coats before you are allowed into the shop.
On the way back to the Ile we stopped off to see Sainte Chapelle. Moira had said it was worth a visit and she was right. We had the normal high security like we go through at airports. The stained glass windows there are magnificent. There have been serious restorations to bring it back to it's original splendour. Pretty awe inspiring.

A couple of coffees later and we were back on our Ile. We wandered around checking every shop, just to make sure we hadn't missed anything and completed our last minute shopping.
Not sure what wifi access we have on our river cruise so I'm not sure when the next post will be. Hopefully soon!
Born to shop!!! On ya girls. So glad you could get to Sainte Chapelle. That was THE highlight of Paris for me. Pity you didn't have a bit more sunlight coming in through the windows to get the full effect... Hope you're cruise goes well.
